Mechanical & Hydraulic Engineering

Peter Barnett (Director and Principal Mechanical Engineer)
Peter has over 30 years consultancy experience and is our Principal Mechanical Engineer.  He is a director of Cosgroves, and manages the mechanical and hydraulic engineering services team.

Peter has been associated with the design and contract administration of a varied range of successful building services projects completed for a wide cross section of clients.  His project experience includes secure prison facilities, hospital and laboratory work, various wineries, office and retail spaces including bulk retail, residential and accommodation buildings.

Peter spends his time away from the office with his family and puts his engineering skills to hands on use with an interest in vintage motorcycles.

 

Stephen French (Associate)
Stephen is a mechanical engineer and has worked for Cosgroves for over four years.  He has more than 25 years' professional engineering experience, including primary responsibility for the design and integration of building services on major retail projects, hospitals, museums, apartments and office developments.  Stephen's experience covers all aspects of design, documentation, contract administration and operation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

Stephen is an accredited assessor for the New Zealand Green building council and has a keen interest in sustainable design and Green Engineering systems.  Other areas of expertise include close control air conditioning and ventilation systems, clean rooms and smoke ventilation systems.

When outside of the office, sport is often on the agenda for Stephen.  He enjoys watching cricket and rugby and participating in cycling, golf or skiing.
