Accounts / Project Administrator

At Cosgroves we provide professional consulting engineering services to the construction industry. We specialise in fire, mechanical, hydraulics, civil, electrical, and sustainable engineering, and have offices in Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch, and Queenstown.

We have an opportunity for a full-time accounts / project administrator to join our Christchurch branch. We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail focused, self-starter.  You will be able to work autonomously, communicate well, prioritise your workload and effectively manage your time.  You will be part of the Cosgroves national administration team, and the role has components that support the wider team. Full support will be provided to you by the Practice Manager and the rest of the administration team.

This is an administration role with a focus on projects, the role will include standard accounts receivable and accounts payable duties however there are some additional skills that would be of significant advantage to the position. 

  • Providing financial reporting for projects
  • Ongoing administration of project budgets
  • Assisting internal teams with project scheduling 
  • Assisting internal teams with document preparation and issue


The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience with using Xero or a similar accounting programme
  • A high level of computer literacy – especially using Word, Excel and Outlook 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A clean full driving license
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage and prioritise workload and take initiative
