Retail

The team at Cosgroves have extensive experience working within the retail sphere. We have designed spaces to accommodate frequent stakeholder use. Our experience varies from small retail fitouts to extensive retail developments.

The Depot Retail Development, Tauranga

Services Provided: Electrical, Mechanical and Hydraulic Design Services

This project entailed the development of a retail centre in Tauranga with a mix of large and small retail store. The Project was developed in stages to allow for a continuous construction period and to open areas as tenants became available. The coordination of external and internal teams was integral for this project, having various fitouts designed and developed simultaneously required meticulous planning and communication to ensure that all components of the project were executed efficiently and effectively.

Invercargill Central

Services Provided: Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical Design Services

The Invercargill Central redevelopment aims to breathe life back into Invercargill’s CBD with a large hub centred around food, hospitality, entertainment, and retail. Maintaining, integrating and preserving the three heritage building façades that surround the development has been integral to the project.  Particular emphasis can be placed on our innovative electrical design, which is a key feature of the building. Resembling the Southern lights, the outside lighting features are a spectacular addition to the Central redevelopment.

5 Mile Development, Queenstown

Services Provided: Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, Fire Engineering and Fire Protection Design Services

The Five Mile retail and Commercial Office development in Queenstown is a large mixed-use development with a supermarket, hotel, bar and bulk retail. Cosgroves have been involved in the design of the entire development which has ensured our ability to offer ongoing knowledge and experience on the project. We designed the systems to be well integrated between buildings, with an embedded electrical network and a central fire protection system.

The Hub Hornby, Christchurch

Services Provided: Electrical, Hydraulic, Mechanical and Fire Engineering Services

This project involved the construction of a two-level Farmers Department store and the redevelopment of 38 retail shop units and food outlets. The Hub Hornby was open and trading throughout the demolition and reconstruction of the site. This meant mindful coordination of the relocation of tenants to temporary shop units, with the least amount of disruption. The design of the building and the services were focused on minimising waste and resource use. The design team created a building with an aesthetically pleasing exterior and highly functional interior which resulted in the project winning the NZ Property Council retail award in 2018.
